There’s more to Halloween than dressing up in scary costumes and going around the neighborhood trick-or-treating with the kids. For fans of horror, this is the best time to dust the cobwebs off your favorite scary movies and stay up watching until the witching hour!
Whether you’re a ghost hunter who isn’t afraid of the dark or a brave soul who’s just about to overcome your fears of the monsters under your bed, here’s a quick checklist you can refer to for hosting the spookiest slumber party this Halloween.
Decorations

While it may be tempting to just TP your home for the ease and shrill fun of it, Halloween is a great time to bring out your inner Martha Stewart and try your hand at some nifty DIY decorations. If you’re pressed for time, you can focus on one area instead, like your bedroom, since most of the sleepover will be spent in there anyway. Lay out tattered white cloth on your bed and light candles in pumpkins for a creepy effect.
Games
Relax; you won’t have to conjure any spirits with an Ouija board just to entertain your guests—unless that’s exactly the kind of thing you’re into. There are more than enough activities to choose from among Halloween’s classics—bobbing for apples, pumpkin carving, flour game—but to make it unique for the occasion, you can fool your friends into believing that the loser of the activities will have to hunt for ghosts all by their lonesome self. Gotcha!
Party Treats

Of course it’s not a party without some snacks! Popcorn, candy, chocolate, nuts—just throw them all together to create one delicious monster munch. These are the basic ingredients, but you can make it your own and whatever you like.
