If you’ve long been waiting for the summer months to arrive but are bummed out because you don’t have a large space to decorate or entertain guests in, don’t worry! There are still plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors regardless of the size of your home.

Installing a window seat will not only maximize an otherwise empty space underneath a large window, it will also let the sunlight filter in your home and provides for an excellent spot to read this summer’s best books, sip a nice cup of tea, and watch the world go by.

If you don’t have space for a window seat, you can still enjoy the cool summer vibe and add a little green indoors by putting in DIY window boxes or plant shelves. Wherever you put them in, plants and flowers can make a big impact and dress up an otherwise boring windowsill.
Want to host a party outdoors but don’t have the space for it? What about having it indoors? Put the heavy drapes in storage, clear the furniture out of the way, and open the windows if the weather permits to enjoy the pleasures of a good-old picnic without worrying about getting dirty and bugs stealing your lunch! To make things authentic, bring in blankets and throw pillows, put on festive background music, and serve picnic-worthy dishes for your guests to enjoy.
