We have something extra special prepared for your upcoming Fourth of July party. Red, white, and blue palette? Of course! Yummy, all-American favorites with a twist? Most definitely! Get set for a fun and stress-free Fourth of July cookout with these easy and delicious crowd-pleasers:
Blueberry Cocktail
This cocktail features summer’s best and most refreshing ingredients! Mix fresh mint sprigs, cucumber slices, blueberries, ¾ cup fresh lime juice, and powdered sugar in a large pitcher, then gently crush the fruit and mint leaves with a wooden spoon to release the flavors. Stir in gin and club soda then serve the drink over ice. Finally, garnish individual glasses with fresh cucumber slices, blueberries, lime wedges, or mint sprigs!

Grilled Hotdogs with Sweet Spicy Relish
Grilled hotdogs are a staple at any barbeque party and are great on their own, but we believe adding our special sweet-spicy relish will make this all-American classic even better! To make the relish, just combine julienned cornichons, white onions, and sweet-hot red peppers with 1 tbsp. pickling liquid from the jar then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Grill hotdogs until lightly charred, put them inside baguettes or hotdog buns spread with a mixture of mayonnaise and Dijon mustard, then top with the relish!
Red, White, & Blue Cupcakes
This scrumptious dessert may not sparkle, but it’s every bit as explosive as the firecrackers going off this Fourth of July! Simply bake cupcakes following a standard recipe, spread them generously with vanilla or cream cheese frosting when they’ve cooled, and top with fresh blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries.
In preparation for the upcoming festivities, we’re having a pre-July 4th all-American Sale this weekend at Schewels—no down payment, no payments till January 2016, and no finance charges for up to 24 months for home furniture, electronics, mattresses, and more! Head on to any Schewels store near you or click here to learn more!
