It’s December and the year is almost over! But before it does, now’s the perfect time to think about what you’d like to renovate in your home for the New Year. One renovation idea that’s sure to give your living space a noticeable facelift while being easy on the pocket is updating your window treatments.
Here’s a quick rundown of what each type has to offer:
Shades

Great for those with a limited budget, window shades come in a variety of looks and styles which will suit any home’s interior design. If you want to keep the privacy and light filtering features of your shades, but are looking something new at the same time, try shades made from a different material such as eco-friendly bamboo. Bamboo shades offer a modern, textured take on a classic style.
Blinds

Whether they’re made from wood or aluminum, the timeless look of window blinds has remained popular among homeowners. If you have hard to reach windows, or would like to do away with those cords and chains which could be a safety hazard for young children, motorization is the way to go! With just a touch of a button, your motorized blinds will lift and tilt to let in the amount of sunlight you need.
Curtains
Elegant, luxurious, and dramatic, curtains and draperies don’t have to be made from heavy materials to offer privacy and light filtering. If you’re thinking of changing your curtains, try one made from softer linings like cotton. Curtains and draperies also look best with lining fabrics like sateen or flannel.
Shutters
Aside from using shutters as window treatments, did you know that you can also repurpose them as side tables, magazine racks, room dividers, and more? If you’re looking for a DIY project next year, why not try your hand as this novel idea?
