Mention the word ‘cleaning’ and the first places that people might think of are the bathroom floor or kitchen countertop. While these places do need regular cleaning, there are other areas in your home that equally need your attention and cleaning agents.

Switches and handles

Light switches and refrigerator handles may have a small surface area, but these easily pass germs simply through constant touch. Don’t worry; this doesn’t mean you have to clean them everyday though. Wiping with a clean cloth spritzed with rubbing alcohol once a week ought to do it.

Electronics

Similar to handles and switches, we bet the electronics in your house i.e. TV remote, computer keyboard and mouse, cell phone, are touched every day, making them a hot bed for germs to breed. Rubbing alcohol or any disinfectant will do the trick, but make sure you hit between buttons and all the nooks and crannies and don’t actually soak your gadgets.

Inside your closet

Your closet may be home to clean and freshly-laundered clothes, but this doesn’t exempt it from some cleaning. And we don’t just mean sorting out your pile of clothing, but cleaning the actual cabinetry. Oh, and while you’re at it, don’t forget to clean those hangers as well.

Windows and door tracks

Cleaning the glass panes seems easy enough; it’s the buildup of mildew and grime on the tracks that will require a little more work. Check out this easy 5-step guide if you’re not sure where or how to start.

Under, behind, alongside, and above your furniture

If you don’t remember the last time you thoroughly cleaned your furniture from all sides, that’s practically months or years worth of collecting dust. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Unfortunately, this also becomes an “out of sight, out of mind” scenario so get to it!
