No other time of the year brings with it as much hope and excitement like the New Year. Often, people think of resolutions as a way of welcoming another year in their lives. While New Year resolutions abound when it comes to work, health, or relationships, you can change it up this year by committing to accomplish goals for your home.
Here are a few, simple suggestions:
Clean more often. Whether it’s your messy closet or the common toilet, there’s always room for a little more cleaning or organizing. You can start small like cleaning once or twice a week, gradually making it a part of your every day routine.

Tend the garden. Growing a green thumb may not be for everyone but adding a touch of nature to your home has its benefits such as boosting productivity levels and creating a relaxing atmosphere. If you don’t have a backyard, you can always adopt low-maintenance indoor plants.

Know your tableware. How many of us actually use the wine glass or the butter knife even without guests around? You don’t have to be a host to learn and use the proper tableware as knowing your way around all those plates and utensils is actually considered basic etiquette. Learn more about being the ultimate host with this tableware guide.
Change the sheets. Give your living room a mini-makeover by simply changing the pillow cases. In the bedroom, you can include your bed sheets. Changing to freshly-laundered sheets and pillow cases once or twice a week will also help ensure a good night’s rest.
Use LED. Who doesn’t want a lower power consumption bill? If you haven’t heard of the benefits of using LED lighting yet, you can find the skinny about it here.
