At the end of a long work day, you may yearn for nothing more than the comfort of your own bed, but there are other areas in your home where you can create a tranquil atmosphere to help you get some much needed rest and relaxation.
Soft Flooring

If you were on your feet for hours because of work, errands, or other reasons, you’ll surely appreciate walking on a soft pathway. Wool carpets can make you feel like you’re walking on Cloud 9, literally, but there are other low-maintenance alternatives like those made from cotton and nylon. Choose earth colors for an extra soothing effect.
Aromatherapy

If you go to the spa, you’ll know just how effective aromatherapy is for calming one’s mind. Just be careful to use the right essential oils. Choose one that will help you sleep soundly like lavender, chamomile, and marjoram, instead of invigorating or stimulating your senses like rosemary, peppermint, and lemon. Clean Up Clutter
This tip may sound so simple but try it and see how big of a difference it makes in helping you relax. Clutter is known to inhibit relaxation both physically and mentally so try to clean up your bedroom as much as you can by eliminating unnecessary items around.
Unplug Electronics
Are you guilty of bringing your work home with you? Putting your phone away when it’s time for bed may make you uncomfortable at first, especially if late night browsing has become a habit, but having any electronic devices around can be a source of distraction. If you have a TV in your bedroom, consider hiding it in a customized cabinet or simply move it away.
