Valentine’s Day can be super stressful for most couples. Restaurants are crowded, streets are congested, and there’s a lot of temptation to spend a ton of money on expensive gifts. Frankly, it’s often better to stay at home and wait for the madness to blow over. However, a cozy night at home with your Valentine can still be pretty special if you put some effort into preparing a nice meal and trying some of these creative ideas:

Woo your valentine with wine

Start wining and dining your Valentine by picking out a great bottle of wine. It doesn’t have to be expensive. Whether white, red, pink, sweet, or bubbly, it would do well to put a little extra thought into the kind of wine you want to pop open come V-day.

Set the table

If “having dinner” with your significant other often means ordering take-out and eating it on the couch while watching Netflix, Valentine’s Day is one of the best times to break out of the rut. For starters, clear the dining room and put some nice plates and fresh flowers on the table. Dim the lights and light some scented candles to set the mood for love.

Create a romantic playlist

Go on Spotify and make your date a playlist of your favorite love songs. If you don’t have time to do this, you can also click Browse and check out ready-made playlists like Couples in Love, Classical Romance, and The Sweet Suite.

Finish it off with dessert

If your baking skills are on point and you feel like making something sweet for your sweetheart, then by all means, go for it. However, if you want to save on time and effort, you can also go with some store-bought goodies. Check out your local bakery or patisserie for cakes and desserts. Valentine’s Day is the best time to splurge on something scrumptious!
