Done right, you can have more than just a reading nook for you and your family. As a general sitting area, you’ll also be able to relax, unwind, listen to music, and have some precious me-time, among other things.
It only takes a few elements to create the perfect nook in your home. Here are some of the essentials:
Sofa

If you’re decorating a corner spot, great news! You’ve pretty much got your work cut out for you with a corner sofa. Now all you have to do is change the sheets into neutral, heavy colors like navy blue for a relaxing ambiance. If your nook is under the stairs, you can opt for a plush armchair or loveseat.
Pillows

Of course, you’ll need pillows to go with the sofa! Aside from matching colors, it would also be best to have a number of your pillows in different sizes to add some visual variety to your corner spot. If you have extra time in your hands, you can try crafting DIY sweater pillow cases.
Floor Rug
To complete the calming atmosphere, lay down a soft floor rug that will also keep your feet warm during the colder months of the year. Just make sure you choose a complementary color to put everything together.
Ottoman
If you’ve still got space to spare, you can place an ottoman nearby for putting your feet up. Look for ottomans that offer functionality such as those that can be used for storage to keep away all your books.
